    The Shining and the Darkness Official Guide Book (シャイニング＆ザ・ダクネス 公式ガイドブック, Shainingu ando za Dakunesu Kōshiki Gaido Bukku) is a strategy guide published by Tokuma Shoten in 1991. It is one of two guide books published by Tokuma Shoten for Shining and the Darkness, the other being the Shining and the Darkness Strategy Guide. This book contains short character biographies, detailed descriptions of the game world and the town, and in-depth explanations of items, magic, and enemies.
