    The Shining and the Darkness Strategy Guide (シャイニング＆ザ・ダクネス 攻略本, Shainingu ando za Dakunesu Kōryakuhō Hon) is a strategy guide published by Tokuma Shoten in 1991. It is one of two guide books published by Tokuma Shoten for Shining and the Darkness, the other being the Shining and the Darkness Official Guide Book. While the other book prioritizes game information over being a gameplay guide, this book offers detailed explanations about what to do and where to go at every stage of the game and includes maps of each dungeon level with all points of interest labeled.
